Standards in public inquiry

Three standards are now under public inquiry until November 25, 2024.

1. STAS 10144/1-90, Streets and bicycle facilities – Transverse profiles – Design requirements

The standard sets out requirements for the design of cross-sectional profiles for:

  • streets in alignment;
  • Streets with special facilities, such as dedicated public transport lanes, green spaces or parking lanes;
  • streets overlapped with classified roads (national, county, municipal);
  • bicycle facilities, including cycle paths, lanes, cycle lanes, cycle routes and cycle roads.

2. STAS 10144/2-90, Streets – Sidewalks, footpaths and cycle paths – Design requirements

The standard sets out the design requirements for sidewalks and footpaths in urban and rural settlements, as well as for cycle paths, both within and outside settlements.

3. STAS 2914-84, Road works – Embankments – Technical quality requirements

The standard refers to the general technical quality conditions for earthworks on public roads. The provisions may also apply to forestry, agricultural, industrial and logging roads as well as to private roads with the agreement of the beneficiary. The wearing course, which constitutes the top layer of the embankment, is regulated by other legal provisions.
