Certification Body

We would like to inform you that from January 1, 2010 for the accreditation of Management Systems Certification Bodies applies the Regulation (EC) no. 765/2008 of the European Parliament and the Council setting out  the requirements for accreditation and market surveillance relating to the marketing of products and repealing Regulation (EEC) no. 339/93.

This Regulation sets out rules on the organization and operation of conformity assessment accreditation bodies performing conformity assessment and aims to ensure that within the European Union one accreditation certificate is sufficient for the whole territory of the Union.
In order to avoid multiple accreditation (which is added cost without added value), to enhance acceptance and recognition of accreditation certificates and to carry out effective monitoring of accredited conformity assessment bodies, conformity assessment bodies should request accreditation by the national accreditation body of the Member State in which they are established. The national accreditation body is a member of the body recognized under the said Regulation (European co-operation for Acceditation - EA) and concludes with it an agreement (Multilateral Agreement - MLA) to recognize the equivalence of accredited certification across Europe and in worldwide.

Environmental Management System Certification Body (ASRO EMS -CB) has accreditation from both the National Accreditation Body of Romania (RENAR) and the National Accreditation Body in the Netherlands (Raad vor Accreditatie - RvA). RvA is a signatory to EA - MLA for environmental management systems certification bodies from 24/11/1998 and RENAR from 28/05/2009. Signing this agreement signifies the recognition of equivalence of accreditations by RENAR and those made by other member bodies of EA and acceptance of reports and certificates issued by certification bodies accredited by RENAR not only in Europe but worldwide.

As a result of the above-mentioned reasons and given the fact that maintaining RvA accreditation means great costs, ASRO EMS-CB requested the waiver of RvA accreditation as of January 1, 2010 and will keep only RENAR’s accreditation, while withdrawing the certificates issued with RvA mark . RvA mark revoked certificates will be replaced with RENAR mark certificates that are also internationally recognised.
